How did I start a blog?
If you had asked me did I know what I was doing when I first started a blog, I would have told you, “Hell no!” lol I just winged it. I have always loved writing as some of you can tell. I would write these very long drawn out posts on social media and someone suggested that I started blogging. Before it was suggested I had the thought of blogging, but felt no one would read it. I read about successful bloggers and bloggers that make money blogging. I never thought it could me speaking from a place of truth about any of that though. After all I am just a chick from Baton Rouge. Who would I reach? Who would read it? I am very authentic and very outspoken. That is frowned upon here. I would think that people would be turned off. However, I just decided to go for it.
Why did I start a blog?
I think my biggest inspiration for moving forward with blogging was my daughter. I wanted to leave behind so many things with her that it doesn’t feel like I left her even when I permanently have in this lifetime. I know that is a very drastic way of looking at things, but the fact is that one day we all won’t be here in physical form. It is our job to give our best while we are here. I want to leave completely empty and OK with leaving knowing that I have done all that I could do. Which I believe this won’t be any time soon prayerfully. I have so much work to do and I am just getting started.
I started by signing up for WordPress to create my blog. It is free to start. If you are looking for more features and services they do charge, but I am sure it is worth the goal you are trying to accomplish. Nothing great is free! Once you have set up your account you can start blogging. You can write about a specific interest or many things you are (or your audience) interested in. Using Pinterest there are a lot of helpful blogs that tell you how to get started with topics and tips on. Pinterest is one of my favorite sites, and is extremely awesome if you need inspiration or want to learn things. Now,back to WordPress. A good thing about WordPress is that you can connect your blog to your social media sites so that when you publish your post it will automatically post to each site you’re on. This helps people to find you. Its helpful if you have a business or just want to connect with like-minded individuals and groups.
